Can you believe it's almost December? The days and weeks have been flying by! Since Halloween, it has felt like a different event every week.
As for YOUR Chamber, we have been busy little holiday elves for over a month . . .
We planned and planned for Candlelight Charm, and the turnout was fantastic!
HOLIDAY BINGO is still going strong. We’re averaging about seven cards a day being turned in completed for the $250 gift card drawing. Remember, you have until December 24th to get stickers from 20 participating businesses. If you need a card, stop by the DESTINATION : Council Grove office at 116 West Main St and pick one up. There is still plenty of time.
Small Business Saturday was wonderful. Thanks to all that took the pledge and went out to spend your $35 in your community. Last Saturday was a delight between our Santa Trolley and your pop-ins to show me your $35 purchases. Our businesses and Chamber Events Committee are proud and filled with gratitude that our community showed up and showed love for the businesses of Council Grove.
Giving Tuesday was a first for us at the Council Grove Area Trade & Tourism Association. We were honored to use our space to support the mission and generosity of the Council Grove Area Foundation (CGAF). Their fund holders step up stations inside DESTINATION : Council Grove and pitch their dreams, plans, and much more to potential donors. We raised a lot of money for worthy causes and got face-time with those that give their hard-earned money for the betterment of our community. PLUS, the CGAF matched the first $1,000 donated to these funds! Amy Honer, executive director of the CGAF, did a terrific job creating momentum for an event that will continue and grow in the years to come.

HOLIDAY LIGHTS TROLLEY TOURS is what’s next! Join us at the Cottage House for another incredible year of lights, music, blankets, cocoa, and Santa! Friday and Saturday nights, December 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, and 17. Tours begin at 6pm and 7pm. Tickets are $12 per person and can be purchased at : https://www.councilgrove.com/book-online

For those of you that are Last Minute shoppers, mark those calendars . . . The Last Minute in Council Grove is back! Thursday, December 22nd at 5pm, our participating businesses will be open late and helping you to finalize those last-minute shopping details.
Procrastinators of the Flint Hills, this one is for you! End-of-season deals, gift-wrapping opportunities, dining and drink specials at our restaurants . . . get that shopping done on time and in style!
Amidst all this holiday fun, our office has spent countless hours preparing and planning for 2023. We want our community to know that 2023 will be a year to remember. YOUR Chamber is working harder than ever to prepare our business community, plan events, plan marketing, and provide meaningful programming, education, opportunities, and networking events to its membership.
We haven’t even begun, and I’m telling you, 2023 is going to be our best year ever. Between the work we are putting in to prepare and produce, the quality businesses and services that Council Grove has to offer, and our businesses’ dedication to customer service and incredible products, 2023 will produce a meaningful economic and social impact on our community. And you can quote me on that!
So let’s take a trolley tour and finish up that Christmas shopping. Then sit back, and enjoy the rest of 2022 because we’re going into 2023 full steam ahead! I hope you’ll come along for the ride.
