Climb aboard the Council Grove Trail Trolley and discover the stories behind our community’s legendary past!
Join Morris County Historical Society member Sharon Haun for a guided Historic Trolley Tour of Council Grove on Saturday, October 3rd, at 2:00 p.m. The tour will take guests past nearly all 25 locations featured in Council Grove’s Historic Sites brochure, bringing the people, places, and events that shaped our community to life.
Along the way, discover the stories of the Kanza people and the Santa Fe Trail; see the site of the Council Oak, where an 1825 treaty established passage through the area; and learn about landmarks such as the Kaw Mission, Last Chance Store, Hays House 1857 Restaurant & Tavern, Post Office Oak, Hermit’s Cave, and the Madonna of the Trail.
