About the Council Grove Garden Club
Growing Something Beautiful in Council Grove
Founded in 2023, the Council Grove Garden Club brings together gardeners, plant lovers, and community members who share an interest in gardening, beautification, and making Council Grove, Kansas, an even more beautiful place to live and visit.
Council Grove is known for its rich Santa Fe Trail history, beautiful historic properties, outdoor spaces, and small-town charm. The Council Grove Garden Club celebrates another part of what makes this community special : the gardens, landscapes, and creative outdoor spaces cultivated by the people who live here.
Whether you're an experienced gardener, just beginning to discover what grows well in Kansas, or simply enjoy beautiful gardens, the club offers opportunities to connect, exchange ideas, learn, and participate in future gardening and community beautification projects.
Coming in 2027 : Council Grove Garden Trolley Tours
A new garden experience is growing in Council Grove, Kansas!
The Council Grove Garden Club and DESTINATION : Council Grove are developing the inaugural Council Grove Garden Trolley Tours, a new signature event that will take guests aboard the Council Grove Trail Trolley to explore a specially selected collection of private gardens throughout the community.
The Garden Trolley Tours will offer visitors a rare opportunity to step inside private Council Grove gardens, meet local gardeners, discover creative landscaping ideas, and experience the community from a completely different perspective.
Featured gardens may include colorful flower gardens, native Kansas and pollinator plantings, vegetable gardens, historic landscapes, backyard retreats, creative small spaces, and other hidden gems. The goal isn't to find "perfect" gardens, it's to celebrate interesting spaces with personality, inspiration, and stories worth sharing.
For visitors planning a Flint Hills getaway or day trip to Council Grove, the Garden Trolley Tours will offer a unique way to experience the community while enjoying the beauty of Kansas gardens and the charm of the Council Grove Trail Trolley.
Planning for the inaugural 2027 Council Grove Garden Trolley Tours is underway. Tour dates, tickets, featured gardens, and additional event information will be announced as details are finalized.
