Because it’s going to be a great one! We have two momentous occasions coming up that I would be remiss not to celebrate first and foremost.
After years of fundraising, planning, dreaming, and much hard work, the Trail Days Arts & History Center’s new theater is ready for its debut!
Congratulations, Ken and Shirley McClintock and the rest of the Trail Days Cafe & Museum team, on this monumental achievement. For years and years, this theater has been in the works, and this weekend we FINALLY get to experience it.
A destination in Council Grove that promises to serve more than just our community. It will be a place to learn about the Flint Hills while simultaneously experiencing the arts. I’ve recently had the privilege of listening to Shirley enthusiastically speak about her vision for this space, and I am excited to watch it flourish in the coming years. Programming and events that educate, inspire, and entertain are on the docket, and even more are in the works.
Plus, with the grand opening of this space comes the debut night of our Council Grove Community Theatre’s first stage production, Steel Magnolias!
We’ve been so happy to support this event through promotion and ticket sales on CouncilGrove.com and in our office, DESTINATION : Council Grove. We’ve seen firsthand the outstanding quality of the work of theatre director Dave May, and we are confident this production will knock our socks off.
Have you seen the cast? If you love this movie as much as I do, you’ll get and adore this lineup too . . .
Sarah Reichart as Ouiser
Lori May as Truvy
Adara Bolieu as Shelby
Nellye Hight as Annelle
Christy Alexander as M’Lynn
Leanne Williams as Clairee
My heart is more excited than I can express!
As if this isn’t enough, check out what else we have happening!
